Catherine works with children, adolescents, and adults and provides a gentle approach to reflecting and engaging with complex emotions. She sits with her clients through their challenges and plays an active role in helping them finding hope and resolutions. Catherine specializes in art therapy and believes in the power that art can have to increase insight and awareness into our thoughts and feelings. She uses paint, clay, and mixed media in sessions to allow clients to visually express their emotions, make coping tools, and develop their curiosity and creativity through the art-making process.
In addition to art therapy, Catherine is trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and uses this modality to help her clients identify and reprocess memories that have contributed to the beliefs they hold about themselves. Depending on the needs of the individuals served, Catherine also uses CBT, internal family systems, play therapy, and grief informed approaches.
